The 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang is fast approaching, and the Mustang Club of America (MCA) has no intention of letting the event slip by without acknowledgement. In fact, the MCA is planning simultaneous events on both coasts, and they’ll be open to Mustang owners and fans alike.

Mustangs Daily tells us the events are scheduled from April 16 to April 20, 2014. Fans on the West coast will be celebrating at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada, while East coast fans will be gathering at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina.

Details on specific events are still being worked out (after all, the celebration is still two years in the future), but the MCA will be arranging organized “Pony Trails” for those wishing to travel in groups of other Mustang enthusiasts.

Ron Bramlett, MCA’s executive director, said, “It is the desire and intent of the Mustang Club of America to make sure that as many Mustang enthusiasts as possible can come and enjoy the celebration of the Mustang’s 50th birthday with the MCA in 2014.”

Bramlett went on to clarify that all are welcome, whether or not you belong to MCA or even own a Mustang. In his own words, “The Mustang is truly a horse of many colors and whether your passion is new or old, Shelby or Boss, racing or cruising, the MCA is striving to have something very memorable for you at the Mustang 50th Birthday Celebration.”

That gives us two years to save our lunch money for a clean 2013 Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca edition, unless we decide we're fans of the 2015 Mustang restyle.
