2012 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet Spotted On The Road: Video

We’ve already brought you photos and videos of the new 2012 Porsche 911 Cabriolet, but until now, we hadn’t see one on the roads, anywhere in the world. Thanks to YouTube poster Dr. Gumo Lunatic, we now have footage of a 2012 Porsche 911 Cabrio in the wild.

The 2012 Porsche 911 Cabrio will come in two trims (for now), the base Carrera and the faster Carrera S. Base models get a 3.4-liter flat six good for 350 horsepower, while S models will use Porsche’s 3.8-liter flat six, packing 400 horsepower. Both come with either Porsche’s new seven-speed manual gearbox or its seven-speed PDK unit.

The folding top is all-new for 2012, and it combines fabric with composite materials and a magnesium frame. The top can be raised or lowered in just 11 seconds, at speeds up to 37 mph, and the new design remains truer to the iconic shape of the coupe. The rear window is actually glued to the magnesium frame, using a proprietary process.

Look for the 2012 Porsche 911 Cabriolet models to begin hitting dealers in time for the summer top-down driving season, at a starting price of $98,250 for Carrera models and $108,950 for Carrera S variants.

Thanks for the tip, Toldi!
