Sage Karam, the 16-year-old Nazareth, PA native who won the 2010 Cooper Tires Presents the USF2000 National Championship Powered by Mazda driver's championship, has signed for a second season of Star Mazda competition with Andretti Autosport, the team he's driven for since his start in USF2000.

Karam, the 2011 Star Mazda rookie of the year - who finished fifth in his debut season - has support from Comfort Revolution, a distributor and marketer of high-end sleep products.  In his debut Star Mazda season, Karam had a total of seven top-five results, including three podiums.  He earned two pole positions last season.  In June, Karam led 93 of 98 laps as he recorded his first victory of the season on the difficult Milwaukee Mile; he took a second race win at Iowa Speedway, with a 7.8-second margin of victory.

Karam's USF2000 season was a remarkable one, as he took nine victories in 12 starts, earning Rookie honors in addition to the championship.  He also helped Andretti Autosport clinch the USF2000 title in its first championship season since rebranding in 2009.

The up-and-coming driver has been competing in karts since he was five years old, establishing himself as a driver to watch with 35 WKA victories and the Indy Racing League (IRL) Stars of Karting national champion.  He is the only kart driver to win a WKA Triple Crown Championship and IRL Stars of Karting in the same year, when he achieved this mark in 2007.

In 2008, at age 13, Karam became the youngest Skip Barber Shootout winner, moving on to compete in the Skip Barber National championship, part of the MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development Road to Indy ladder system.  In 2009, Karam was the only American driver to compete in both a national karting championship and an open-wheel professional series on a full-time basis.

Away from the track, Karam volunteers with the nonprofit Operation Smile, through the Michael Fux Foundation.  He is an honor student at school and a championship wrestler.

Comfort Revolution a longtime supporter of Andretti Autosport and a specialty bedding company, continues to support Karam and his 2012 Star Mazda effort.  The company was the first to create the egg-crate foam mattress pads for retail and later unveiled the first memory foam mattress pads.
