Two sons spent a period of five years tracking down an elusive 1965 Chevrolet Impala SS that once was the pride and joy of their father, Herb Younger, who purchased the car brand new but had to give it up during the ‘80s due to financial constraints.
After finally tracking it down to a dealership in Canada using its VIN, Younger’s sons Derek and Jared bought it over the phone and later presented it to their old man.
Suffice it to say, Younger senior was more than a little overwhelmed upon being reunited with his Impala after more than two decades. And surprisingly, the car was still in pristine condition.
To capture the moment, Chevrolet conspired with the two brothers and posed as a film crew documenting three generations of an American family. Little did Herb know, his Impala would come rumbling into view at a park where he was playing with his grandchildren. His recognition was instant. This was not a car like his. This was HIS car.
