While the people behind Need For Speed: The Run are giving away a 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S for registering on the video game’s website, Microsoft has announced that it plans to do something similar with its latest Forza Motorsport 4 title, which just went on sale a few days ago.

Microsoft, together with BMW, is launching the BMW M5 Forza Cup, which we're sad to report is only open to German residents.

The competition to set the fastest virtual laps in the new M5 will build to a climax in the finale at the BMW Welt, the German automaker’s museum located near its headquarters in Munich.


After signing up via the Xbox Live online community or at www.bmw.de/forza4, gamers will compete to set the quickest times on circuits such as the Nurburgring-Nordschleife and Laguna Seca.

Then, a total of 16 finalists will lock horns in an ultimate round of the BMW M5 Forza Cup at the BMW Welt on November 26. At the end of the battle, the fastest gamer will earn him or herself the keys to an actual BMW M5 super-sedan.

Microsoft will also be offering a Limited Collector’s Edition of Forza Motorsport 4, which sees the new BMW M5 not only taking in the role of “hero car” but also featuring on the game’s cover (pictured main).
