Drag racing is a hard thing to do on a budget; it's a sport measured in cubic dollars. But many people manage to bend that immutable rule by doing a lot of work themselves. Sometimes that goes wrong.
In this case, it could have gone horribly wrong, but, as this video dug up by Autoblog shows, sometimes a quick reaction to an unexpected equipment failure can keep a bad day from becoming a horrible one.
So what went wrong? This very hot, nitrous-fed, home-brewed Buick Regal launched so hard it broke the seat and threw the driver's feet up against the ceiling of the car. Despite finding himself in a sudden and unexpected Regal hammock, he quickly gets back on the wheel and steers the car away from the wall.
Good job, buddy. Next time, you might want to invest in a proper seat.
