CEO Bob Parsons and GoDaddy.com didn't waste any time announcing their future IZOD IndyCar Series plans for 2012 and beyond. The website is committing to IndyCar for another two years and joining with all three generations of racing Andretti's - Mario, Michael and Marco - to use the family for promotional activities. The deal officially begins next year and extends through the 2013 season. The driver involved will be named later.
"Three generations of Andretti's - now that's just plain cool," Parsons said. "Deciding to stay with IndyCar was a pretty easy decision. The fans are great. Imagine the marketing potential [here]," he suggested. "Mario is an absolute icon. Michael has been Go Daddy's partner as a team owner for five years and Marco is a young man who is already in the racing record books. This is not your 'everyday' sponsorship, that's for sure!"
As part of the agreement, the three Andretti racers - Mario, Michael and Marco - will appear on Go Daddy TV commercials as soon as this winter. During this weekend's Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma, all three will talk about their jobs during the first-ever IndyCar ORTSBO Internet interactive fan event based in Sonoma at Infineon Raceway.
"We admire how Go Daddy runs its business," Mario Andretti noted. "In IndyCar, we put the fans first and on the internet… GoDaddy puts the customers first. Go Daddy is absolutely passionate about what they do and I've always believed passion is at the heart of success."
GoDaddy.com is the world's largest provider of Web hosting, domain name registrations and net new SSL Certificates. The firm has recorded double digit sales growth in each of the last seven years and has hired hundreds of people this year.
