Saying your brand is all about performance is one thing, but actually putting your own butt on the line in an all-out open road rally is another. SRT Brand president and CEO Ralph Gilles isn't afraid--even when he's doing it in a Dodge Viper SRT10.

Gilles will join experienced Targa Newfoundland competitor Jen Horsey of Toronto, Canada, in a Dodge Viper SRT10 to fly along the 2,200-kilometer (that's about 1,367 miles to us yanks) course at spead. Along the way, they'll help raise $50,000 for the Autism Society of Newfoundland & Labrador.

Other SRT vehicles that will be competing include a 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 driven by George Notaras and Nick Chambers, and a lime green Challenger SRT8 392 driven by Rob Pacione and Brian Maxwell. The lime green Challenger is the same car Gilles drove in the Targa in 2008.

The DriveSRT site will cover the whole event with info, photos, and video, so SRT fans can keep abreast of all the action there. For a preview of what to expect--though not quite at the pace or ferocity of a Viper--check out the video from Gilles' last run at the Targa below.
