2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe facelift spy shots
The
2012 Hyundai Genesis Sedan was revealed in facelifted form back in February but the latest version of its two-door sibling, the upcoming 2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe, isn’t set for a debut until the 2012 Detroit Auto Show in January of next year, according to a new report.
Key changes expected for the car include fresh new styling and more powerful versions of the same engines found in the outgoing 2011 model.
What we will see is the regular turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and 3.8-liter V-6 options remain, with the V-6 getting the same 333 horsepower and 291 pound-feet of torque bump in output applied to the 2012 Genesis Sedan.
This represents a significant increase of 27 horsepower and 25 pound-feet of torque over the outgoing V-6 model, brought about by the addition of direct injection and a higher compression ratio. Only modest gains are expected for the 210 horsepower and 223 pound-feet of torque four-cylinder model.
Sadly, the
rumored V-8 option and newly developed eight-speed automatic on Hyundai’s rear-wheel drive coupe is yet to be confirmed.
Stay tuned for more information in the lead up to next year's Detroit event. In the meantime, check out all the changes made to the 2012 Hyundai Genesis Sedan model by
