A crazed fan attempting to jump over a moving Formula 1 car at a Red Bull sponsored exhibition event in Japan this weekend was captured on video spectacularly failing to complete his dangerous leap. Driving the F1 race car was Scuderia Toro Rosso driver Sebastian Buemi who luckily was only doing about 30 mph when the fan ran in front of him.
As the video footage reveals, the fan's legs clip the top of the race car, causing him to stumble onto the side of the track. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured, with the fan, thought to be a hired marshall of the event, getting up and walking away after.
Perhaps he drank too much Red Bull and thought he suddenly had wings.
The Formula 1 circuit is taking a short break this weekend as teams prepare for the next race at the 2011 Canadian Grand Prix on June 12. Stay tuned for our full coverage of the upcoming race.
