As we pointed out in our spy shots of what appears to be a
2013 Aston Martin Rapide
in testing, the company may be working on a sport package for the sports sedan. The latest report says that's exactly what's up, and confirms some of the details we speculated on as well.
Foremost is the upgrade from the 470-horsepower 6.0-liter V-12 specced as standard on the Rapide to the 510-horse unit found in the V12 Vantage and DBS. Along with the power boost comes talk of carbon-ceramic brake discs and a stiffer suspension setup.
Seen the the spy shots is the new bodywork, which includes tweaked front and rear bumpers for a lower, more aerodynamic look, and the possibility of side scoops to aid in cooling, though there's no evidence of those as yet in the spied images.
When can we expect this hotter Rapide S to come to market? Possibly sometime later this year, though Aston may save it for 2012.
