That's right, folks, the Cadillac CTS-V Wagon is no longer the only uber-wagen to be on sale this year. Mercedes-Benz is joining the party with its 2012 E63 AMG Wagon, and it's everything you'd expect.

That means it's a 5.5-liter, 518-horsepower, 516-pound-foot, twin-turbo, direct-injection V-8 superhauler with a seven-speed MCT transmission. The optional performance package bumps the fun to 550 horspower and 590 pound-feet. A longroof love affair waiting to happen.

Of course you'll also get AMG's excellent attention to interior detail, as well, meaning an upgrade over even the standard high-end E-Class in terms of style and materials. It also gets a standard panoramic sunroof. Mix in the available Designo custom colors and you have a recipe for a truly impressive wagon.

How impressive? We'll have to drive on to find out. It's expected to arrive in October.
