Arriving quite coincidentally right on the heels of the wave of positive national emotion at the demise of Osama Bin Laden, Chevrolet is offering a special limited edition of the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro SS in commemoration of Military Appreciation Month.
Dubbed the Honor & Valor Limited Edition 2012 Camaro SS, 99 examples are planned for production, making it a future collectible. The car will be shown to the public for the first time during the Indianapolis 500 military personnel parade at the vaunted racing circuit on May 28. Power comes from the 6.2-liter V-8 we've come to love so much in the Camaro SS. Making 426 horsepower with the six-speed manual, or 400 horsepower with the automatic transmission, the Honor & Valor Camaro is packing more than its fair share of firepower.
2012 Chevrolet Camaro SS
The Camaro is but one aspect of the GM Military Discount program General Motors has run for years. Usually available only to active duty service people, GM is expanding the program to benefit to spouses of Active and Reserve members, as well as retirees, of the U.S. Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, National Guard and Coast Guard during the month of May.
The discount is available on most Chevrolet, Buick and GMC models with discounts typically ranging between $500 and $4,000 off the suggested retail price of the vehicle purchased. The GM Military Discount also offers a $750 discount on selected Chevrolet, Buick and GMC vehicles to eligible members of USAA, a financial services provider for the military community.

The Honor & Valor Camaro will be available in red, white, or black (kinda weird they omitted blue, but hey, black IS beautiful). Unique features of the car include the limited edition Honor Badge, license plate bracket, heritage grille, side stripes, premium floor mats, painted ground effects, and one year of XM Satellite Radio. The limited edition Camaro is available to order through www.gmmilitarydiscount.com.
BTW, anyone purchasing a car through the program will have the option of fitting the Honor & Valor badge to their car.
