Earlier today we brought you the first scant official details on Volkswagen's 2013 World Rally Championship entry, the Polo R WRC, and now we have the official preview video of the car's design and unveiling.

Showing little more than some cryptic sketching and small cuts of in-car video, both vintage and present, the video gives an idea of what to expect of the pint-sized terror when it finally arrives in race-ready form a year and a half from now.

    I love WRC. The skill shown by these drivers on a variety of surfaces and in all weather conditions is simply astounding. Scary way to make a living though...

    I'm sure we'll be seeing privateer Petter Solberg switch from his Citroen-backed DS3 rally car to this new Volkswagen Polo WRC and most probably Dakar and ex-WRC pilot Carlos Sainz in the mix.
