Infiniti JX luxury crossover teaser

Infiniti JX luxury crossover teaser

We first heard about the possibility of a new model from Infiniti dubbed the JX last August when it was revealed the premium Nissan division had trademarked the JX name. Now, on the eve of the 2011 New York Auto Show, Infiniti has released a new teaser of an upcoming luxury crossover that will be called the JX.

The new crossover is set to go on sale in the spring of 2012 as a 2013 model. However, we’ll get our first look at the JX at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance this August. Its official world debut, meanwhile, is pegged for November’s 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show.

It will feature three-row seating and go up against the likes of the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz ML and the segment leader, the Lexus RX. If Infiniti's naming convention means anything, the "J" ranking would put it somewhere above the EX and FX in ruggedness, but somewhere below the hulking QX.

No other details have been revealed except that there will be seven seats, next-generation telematics and a “stunning” interior.
