Passing the chase car and now free to play with speed, the first few laps are uneventful. As the driver settles in and gets comfortable, the lap times tumble on the 5 km circuit. Inevitably, a turn gets overcooked and the car corkscrews a few times before recovering and blasting off once more.

Donuts anyone?

A pause to warm the tires through some donuts on the south paddock and then its back into the pit lane. The engine is quiet. Grins from all concerned as the stats are checked and everything is fine.

This car will race in a number of endurance races on the Malaysian race calendar alongside two yellow and red liveried brethren. Its silver lines will be unmistakable. For those whose super cars never get a chance to break free of congested roads and constables sporting speed guns, watching this car stretch its flex muscles is a thing of pure beauty.
