So hybrid technology generally isn't that in sync with performance cars, especially not in the affordable segment. Fortunately, if you decide to win the lottery, you can find the prettiest hybrid I have ever seen.
The Porsche 918 is going on sale, and it's more of a poster car than it is anything most of us will have a shot at actually driving. As GlobalAtlanta notes, there will be only 918 of them produced (clever!), and they'll cost $845,000 per pop.
That will get you a car that's not far off from the Le Mans prototype, and will be available sometime after September 2013. It features a V-8 and two electrical motors to launch from 0-60 mph in just 3 seconds.
So, start checking your piggy bank, or maybe come into some money from a wealthy relative. Otherwise, you'll want to keep a look out for some of the smaller, more affordable sporty hybrids set to make their debut. You can hope that the Toyota FT coupe is powerful, and not like the Honda CR-Z.
Other middle of the pack hybrids that might be more interesting include the Infiniti M35h set to debut over here within the next couple of years, or the Lexus CT 200h which comes in a five-door hatchback.
