Bentley Motors Seeks Apprentices

One of the few automakers still crafting its cars largely by hand, Bentley Motors is holding an apprentice open house on Saturday, March 19 from 9 am to 1 pm at Bentley HQ on Pyms Lane in Crewe, England.

Twenty positions are open in Craft, Technical, Technician, Junior Engineer, Commercial and Business. Those accepted into the program will follow a two, three or four year course, depending upon the subject. Starting in September, the apprenticeships run in conjunction with local colleges to make sure all academic credit is received, and yes, exchange students are welcome.

Current apprentices will be on hand to impart an idea of how the program runs to prospective applicants. They’ve also produced a film to show what they do and how life is working at one of the world’s premier auto manufacturers.

According to Christine Gaskell of Bentley’s personnel board, “Our apprenticeship scheme has been recognized as one of the best at a national level and we are looking for enthusiastic students who relish a challenge and who will seize this opportunity to display their potential.”

In addition to the apprenticeship open house, attendees will have an opportunity take a peek inside the Bentley design studios through an exhibition called “The Unbroken Line”. In addition to the studios, cars from the past 90 years of Bentley’s production history will be on display.

For anyone interested in the apprenticeship program, the company will have staff members from Bentley Academy on hand to explain how it works, as well as illuminate the overall benefits of having apprenticed at such a storied firm as Bentley can have on the career of an aspiring individual.

Tickets are not required to attend the event.

Registration deadline for the apprenticeship program is May 16th and applications are available online.

Attendance on Saturday is not required to apply for an apprenticeship.
