NASCAR and Top Gear USA forms partnership

What better way to drum excitement for your show than to partner with one of the country’s most watched events, the NASCAR Nationwide Series. That's exactly what the producers of Top Gear USA have done, signing a deal with Charlotte Motor Speedway to rename the May 28 NASCAR Nationwide Series race the ‘Top Gear 300’.

Highlights from the Top Gear USA show will air during the race weekend and snippets will also be shown on the world’s biggest high-definition video screen, which stretches some 200 feet wide and is located at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.

No terms of the deal have been disclosed yet. The Top Gear 300 race will air nationally on ABC at 2:30 p.m. EST on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.

Top Gear USA, starring comedian and car buff Adam Ferrara, champion rally and drift racer Tanner Foust and racing analyst Rutledge Wood, is now entering its second season. Let’s hope this one grows on us, or else it could be the last.

  1. Great! They took something I love (Top Gear UK), dumbed it down for US audiences, hired watered down versions of the UK hosts, and now are marketing it to the NASCAR audiences. I am certain that soon it will be sponsored by GM (if it isn't already). I officially loathe the American Top Gear.

    Bad stuff?

  2. The American version sucks! Rutledge Wood and Tanner Foust, class acts, but Adam Ferrara? I'm sorry, but it doesn't have the "comedy" kind of thing to it. Also, they're copying alot of the things they would do in the UK version. Watch a couple of episodes and it was painful!
