2012 Jaguar XKR-S Configurator Includes French, Italian Options

Follow Nelson

Synonymous with British motorsports for decades, Jaguar has unveiled its new road-going XKR-S, the hottest version of its aging XK platform to date. It's certainly an attractive offering if you're into the Jag coupe, but it has some rather unexpected options--including colors called French Racing Blue and Italian Racing Red.

The only two other options are Ultimate Black Metallic and Stratus Grey Metallic--leaving us wondering where the British Racing Green version might be hiding, and why the French and Italian colors got the nod in the first place. No matter which color you choose, however, the car certainly shows its lines well.

Starting from $132,000 in the U.S., it's no cheap date, but for those with the means and the desire, you can build up your own at the link below.

  1. Is it just me, or does it look like Jaguar took a few styling cues from the Nissan GTR ?

  2. seems logical. After Aston stealing Jags thunder even after they used their designa dn underpinnings to call them there own, the Aston has gone upmarket, and the natural rival to the XK is infact the GTR, so to appeal to that demographoc the stryling cues have to be more agressive as opposed to the Aston's beauty

  3. I don't see anything that's GT-R specific in the XKR-S. I just see racing-inspired aerodynamics. The GT-R is all hard(er) lines and edges, where the XKR-S is smooth curves.

  4. Nelson - i would say your view of the front end and rear is cloudign whats going on in the middle and on the bonnet. The XKR is all agressive lines especially so in this trim. the front and rear of the GTR is agressive edges but the midle is fairly similar :D
