Is A New Mustang SVO On The Way?

According to Jalopnik, Ford chairman Bill Ford Jr. has publicly stated that a turbocharged Mustang is on the way.

Ford Jr. didn't get into specifics, but likely engine choices would either be a 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V-6 or a 2.0-liter EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder.

A turbocharged Mustang reminds us--and everyone else--of the late SVO that was offered in the early '80s. Whether Ford would use that name is unknown, but a modern SVO could be a fun fuel-sipper.

  1. Put me down for one of those new SVO's! I think that the modern turbo charger technology will take care of all the short comings of the original SVO and make for a real nice everyday Mustang.

  2. Personally I think the general idea is good but the ecoboost is still new technolagy. I would buy one no dought but Ford should look into a v6 ecoboost with the new v6 not the older one.It will give more of a edge but will still get great milleage.
