The 2016 Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SuperVeloce is possibly the best car to ever roll out of the factory in Sant'Agata Bolognese, but as its chief engineer Maurizio Reggiani explains here in this video, the famous SV badging represents much more than just the cutting of weight and an increase in power and downforce.

The video comes to us from the guys at /DRIVE, and as usual it’s shot beautifully. It features Reggiani with the 739-horsepower supercar at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, and the version he’s driving is a burnt orange example we’re yet to see.

Unfortunately for those readers with pockets deep enough to afford the Aventador SV’s $493,069 price tag, all 600 examples destined for production are accounted for. The good news is that a further 500 Aventador SV Roadsters are planned, and we should see the new open-top version at an auto show very soon.

Enjoy the clip.
