The BMW X1 has been on the loose for over a year over in Europe, but it won't be found on the streets here in the U.S. until for some time still. As we wait patiently for BMW's new baby crossover, we have the first images of its upcoming M Sports Package.

Coinciding with this week’s announcement of BMW’s new four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine, which replaces the six-cylinder unit in the X1 xDrive28i, the new M Sports Package will simultaneously hit the U.S. market with the launch of the X1 this fall.

The good news is that will be available for all engine versions of the compact BMW X1 and comprises suspension, exterior and interior components all specially developed for this model.

For the exterior, there’s 17 and 18 inch M alloy wheels, an aerodynamics package with new bumpers and spoilers, door sills with the “M” logo and glossy trim for the window surrounds and roof rails. Customers will also be able to select from several special colors: Alpine White, Le Mans Blue, Sapphire Black, Space Grey, Vermillion Red and Mineral White.

Step inside and M Sports Package customers will be able to enjoy sporty bucket seats trimmed with Alcantara inserts, an M leather-trimmed steering wheel with multifunction buttons and an M footrest for the driver. There’s also an Anthracite roof liner, aluminum, an M gearshift lever for manual equipped models and a leather handbrake lever gaiter.
