MyFord Mobile App - 2012 Ford Focus Electric
The Volt has its app, the Prius has one too. Now the Ford Focus Electric has joined the party with the MyFord Mobile app. Offering smartphone users the ability to monitor and control their vehicle remotely, the app also packs EV-specific features.
Like what, you ask? Like "value charging," which allows Focus Electric owners to reduce the cost of the energy their car uses by simplifying the process of taking advantage of off-peak rates or EV-specific reduced rates. The app also uses MapQuest to help plan routes for minimum distance, charging stations along the way, and to determine if the car's range is adequate to reach the destination.

“We’re putting battery charge and vehicle range information, along with an interactive, data-driven trip planning app right at customers’ fingertips,” said Ed Pleet, Ford Connected Services manager. “That’s going to get drivers involved and excited about the electric car ownership experience.
The app also does a whole host of other functions, including alerts when scheduled charging isn't taking place, remote lock/unlock, access from the app to the car's built-in GPS, and access to the car's internal performance and system data.
