Carlsson Produces Tuning Kit for 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS

The folks at Carlsson Tuning over in Germany definitely believe in being ready for things before they go down. For proof, all you have to do is check out the body kit and engine mods they’ve just released for the as-yet-unreleased 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS.

With the CK35 performance kit they’ve come up with for the 3.5-liter V-6, the engine produces 333 horsepower, up from the 306 horsepower produced by the standard engine. And while we probably won’t see a diesel CLS here in the states, Carlsson has a kit for that powerplant as well. Delivering 320 horsepower, the Carlsson C-Tronic Diesel Power control unit helps the engine gain a full 14 horsepower over the standard engine.

Carlsson’s C-Tronic Suspension kit lowers the CLS just over an inch for a more planted stance, improved roadholding and better aerodynamics. Speaking of aero, there’s a new front spoiler that features led fog lights, side skirts with air intakes, and a new rear apron. The company also offers a stainless steel exhaust system with freer flowing mufflers and oval exhaust tips.

The twenty-inch wheels—available in three colors, (titanium silver, brilliant silver and graphite grey)—feature a combination of five single and five double spokes. Designer Rolf Schlepp designed the five top spokes in such a way that they terminate flushly on the edge of the wheel rim while the five double spokes begin deeper inside the wheel receptacle and are arranged outside on the upper edge of the wheel rim.

Inside, the Alcantara wrapped sports steering wheel, pedals and footrest are made of brushed aluminum. A set of velour foot mats finish off the dynamic, yet stylish appearance.

U.S. pricing has yet to be set, but if you’re looking to make your new CLS even more distinctive, Carlsson has exactly what you need—even before the car goes on sale!
