The 2011 BMW 1-Series M Coupe is still fresh from its reveal late last week, but the facts and figures on its performance are beginning to take familiar form with the release of rumored Nurburgring lap times. The results? Not surprising, but not as impressive as you might have hoped.

At 8 minutes, 12 seconds, the 1-Series M manages to outrun the Z4 M Coupe, E60 M5, and the E46 M3, as well as what may be its nearest BMW-line competitor currently built, the 335i. More interesting, however, are the cars it doesn't outrun, including: the Porsche Cayman S, Audi TT-RS, the last-generation Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX, and, of course, the E92 BMW M3.

Any way you look at it, the 1-Series M Coupe is in good company, and, for a German sports car, a very good value. But does it have enough mojo to steal your dollars away from the American alternatives?
