MMR's twin-turbo 2010 GT500 breaking the 200 mph mark in the quarter mile

If you've read our first drive review of the 2011 Ford Shelby GT500, you know it's good for a whole lot more than straight-line duty, unlike many of its predecessors. But that doesn't mean it's not still a very good platform for a serious drag car.

The Modular Mustang Racing (MMR) 2010 GT500 proves that in righteous fashion, packing twin 80-mm Garret turbos on a Ford Racing 5.4-liter aluminum block, the car has been significantly lightened with carbon fiber to yield a curb weight of just 2,900 pounds. All of that combines for some wicked quick times.
