Buy A 2012 Boss 302 Mustang, Attack The Track

Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca, Production, and 302R

The lucky few who purchase a 2012 Boss Mustang--and from what we've heard, it will be few--will also get the chance to participate in the Boss Track Attack program. This program will be offered by Team Mustang and Ford Racing, and it the main portion of the event will be complimentary to those who buy a Boss 302.

The program features what Ford calls "Boss immersion" along with driving instruction and track time. For those wondering what immersion is, it is essentially a presentation that Ford will give the night before, explaining the car's backstory.

The event will take place at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. Ford will use both 2012 Boss Mustang and Mustang School vehicles as part of the event. Exact details--such as the date--are pending and will be revealed early next year, but owners will need to arrange and pay for their own travel and lodging. However, once participants arrive in Utah, the track event, including the cars used, will be compliments of Ford.

  1. You'd think the minuscule cost of travel arrangements would be covered in the inevitable dealer mark-ups that will likely push this Mustang towards and possibly over the $70,000 mark !!!

    Bad stuff?

  2. Got this off 2012boss.com (good site dedicated to the boss 302)
It says the Mustang Boss 302 model will be built for two years (2012 & 2013) with 4,000 models produced each year. Of the 4,000 Mustang Boss 302 models 3,500 will be street cars and 500 will be ”R” race cars ( Laguna Seca edition). If this is true Ford is limiting production to just 8,000 Boss Mustang 302 models for 2012 and 2013.
