April wasn't a good month for Caterham R500 drivers. From the Berg Cup in Germany and the Guernsey Hillclimb in the U.K., these two videos are lessons in what not to do when behind the wheel of a 1,117-pound, 263-horsepower Lotus 7 clone. Speed is your friend, greed is your enemy.

Both drivers lost it by entering a corner too fast and experiencing terminal understeer. Excursions beyond the borders of the traction circle occasionally lead to sudden exploits in agriculture or acrobatics. Both have their places, but those places are not in the middle of a hillclimb.

  1. Wow. That second clip is just embarrassing. I could never show my face around that track again.
