The cornerstones of luxury are built upon certain indulgences. We’ve obviously covered cars in depth. We’ve even covered super-yachts like Strand Craft’s 122 Open. And now, it’s time for Luxury Car Report to cover watches.
Yes, nothing says luxury like having a gleaming chronograph on your wrist. And Spyker, the Dutch supercar manufacturer that has gotten a lot of press lately over their acquisition of Saab, has decided to release a limited-edition collection of Spyker Timepieces to celebrate their participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The stunning watches feature many of the same design touches that grace the interiors of Spyker vehicles. These gorgeous characteristics include a band with the same cross-stitched leather as the cars’ seats, available in Dutch Spyker Orange, Black Anthracite or Blanc de Blanc white. The watches’ bezel features an engraving of the company’s Latin motto: “Nulla Tenaci Invia Est Via,” which means, “For the tenacious, no road is impassable.” And the pushbuttons on the side are designed to be reminiscent of the Spyker’s exhaust pipes.
Available now from www.SpykerTime.com, as well as selected watch retailers and Spyker-sponsored car owners’ events, the timepieces range in price from $9,750 to $30,000. The limited edition chronographs are available in solid 18K grey or rose gold finishes (both limited to runs of 250), or in polished steel or matte black titanium finishes (limited to 1,000 each).
Tell us your thoughts: does having a watch seal Spyker’s place in the top tier of luxury cars, alongside Bentley, Ferrari, and Porsche?
