In case you haven't heard, High Gear Media is competing in the 2010 Fireball Run. Our team of editors will take on the challenges, tracks, and missions to try to win the glory driving a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS. Along the way, we'll be helping to find missing kids as part of the event's larger mission. We hit the road for the event tomorrow, with the first autocross and track challenges on Friday, September 24.

Just because the Fireball Run Adventurally is a competitive event, that doesn't mean you have to drive a sports car. If you want to do well at the track events, you should, but it's definitely easier to fit a week's worth of electronics, clothing, and gear into a Chevy Tahoe or Ford Excursion than it is a Lamborghini Gallardo or Delorean. But all four of those--and much more--will be competing.

Supercars and sports cars will be in attendance, including a Valentino Balboni Lamborghini Gallardo (piloted by the man himself), a regular 2006 Gallardo, and a 2001 Diablo. An Audi TT, 2007 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, 2006 Audi S4, two (two!) Deloreans, a 1981 GMC ambulance, a Ford Model T, and a 1932 Custom Ultra round out the sporty, exotic, and plain interesting.

The most space-challenged competitors are likely to be the Greene Team driving the Smart Brabus ForTwo. Gluttons for close-quarters punishment is the only answer. The most comfortable crew is almost certain to be Team On The Fly, driving a Ford Coachman RV.

Muscle cars are perhaps the best-represented group on the grid, with our own Team High Gear Media 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS and four other current-gen Camaros facing off against a '68 Dodge Charger, a 2006 Charger SRT8, a 2010 Charger, a 2006 Ford Mustang and one 'Stang of unknown vintage.

Check out the list for the full roster of teams and cars. It's also the live scoring page, so you'll want to check it as the rally unfolds to keep tabs on how we're doing. You can follow along with our updates from the road via Facebook, Twitter, and the web at our Fireball Run hub page.
