Roush’s system is a little tamer though, if 550 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of twist are to be considered tamed. Granted, this is all done on stock pump gasoline.
The 5.0L ROUSHcharger Tuner Kit comes with a 90 mm pulley, generating about seven pounds of boost. The stock fuel injectors are replaced with 47 pound fuel injectors along with high-flow fuel rails. Also included are a twin 60 mm throttle body and a high-flow Roush air lid.
The Tuner Kit does not maintain the factory Ford warranty, but does come with a 90-day parts warranty itself. Also, this isn’t a job for you grease monkeys out there; installation and tuning are recommended to be completed by a professional.
Roush displayed the new 5.0L ROUSHcharger Tuner Kit at the 2010 Mustang Alley car show during the Woodward Dream Cruise last Friday, with many onlookers having to take a second glance at the suped up 2011 Ford Mustang GT.
Jack Roush, chairman of ROUSH Enterprises, said: “While the new Ford five-liter engine offers amazing performance right from the factory, the new ROUSHcharger will kick it up a level.”
This 5.0L ROUSHcharger Tuner Kit is available and ready for shipment or installation. The kit has a suggested retail price of $5,999. Roush is working on a 5.0L ROUSHcharger Kit that should be available this fall, which will come complete with a ROUSH calibration and full warranty.
