Although the 370Z is definitely the entry-level roadster in the luxury car world, it should not be dismissed before receiving careful consideration. The 332 horsepower 3.7-liter V-6 pushes this rag-top from 0-60 in about 5.2 seconds, making for a swift getaway. But better yet, unlike the competition, that power is available in all of the Z’s available trim packages meaning you won’t pay a premium just to get a respectable amount of power. However, for those of you hankering for even more giddy-up, the stiffer, 350 horsepower, Nismo package is not available for the Roadster.

The all-important transformation from sunmobile to closed cruiser takes a respectable 20 seconds. Just as important, and the main reason that the 370Z even makes the Luxury Car Report cut, are the upgrades that Nissan has made to the interior from the time of the 350Z. Although the Z’s interior was always acceptable, recent improvements have brought it up to nearly the same level of its cousin, the Infiniti G37. Besides its comfortable interior and stunningly good looks, the 370Z is a joy to drive. With a solid, confidence-invoking, feeling, the two-seater obeys your every command as you point it at the apex and punch the power. Available with a 6-speed manual with Nissan’s SynchroRev Match (which automatically rev-matches downshifts--a lifesaver for new manual drivers and a feature that can be disabled for experienced manual drivers) or an optional 7-speed automatic, the Nissan 370Z Roadster starts at $36,970.
