2010 Acura TL Review

Although some drivers seem to think the front of the Acura TL looks a little strange, it hasn't prevented numerous sales of the vehicle. The grille has a lot to do with the first impression of the TL, which is being compared to a goofy grin. With the trunk coming to a point in the back it makes the car look even more different than other cars on the road.

The standard TL has a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that gets 280 horsepower. While the SH-AWD models have the bigger 3.7-liter V-6 that gets 305 horsepower. It has a 5-speed automatic transmission and a 6-speed manual transmission is also available. Both models get from 0-60 in an acceptable 6.7 seconds.

As far as fuel economy goes, the base model FWD does 18 mpg in the city and 26 on the highway. The AWD vehicles get 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. Both models seem to be having different characteristics; the AWD has better handling qualities, especially in wet weather conditions. It also has more accurate brakes and the steering is more responsive. The Acura TL gives a comfortable ride, but the AWD version is built and designed to keep up with the competitors.

The basic model has a manufacturers price of $35,105 and you can expect to pay significantly more for the AWD version. If you are just looking for a vehicle for everyday driving the standard TL does the job, the AWD offers more, but the difference is really only impressive on the racetrack.

Acura have brought the quality expected to the interior of this vehicle. The gleaming aluminum trim and leather over the dash and door panels give the inside a touch of class. As the AWD TL is built for a sporty ride the seats have heavier padding to ensure comfort while cornering. Acura are known for their wealth of technology contained within each of their cars. The TL offers a technology package, which adds to the already existing functions. The dashboard resolution screen provides weather, climate, traffic reports, and lots more.

The 2010 Acura TL come with many safey features, including front, front-side and side-head-curtain airbags, brake assist system, and four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes. Although some have complaints about the exterior design, others think it is quite a quirky and cool looking vehicle. At the end of the day whatever your thoughts are on the look, there is no denying the TL has a lot to offer with performance and handling capabilities.

  1. The blade on the grille is a lil large & the head & tail lights could be larger to be more proportionate w/ the car ... but overall it is not horrible.
Sales are not great but they are not as bad the net tries to make them out .... ~3k/mo is decent .... could be better but decent.
