2011 Dodge Durango teaser
Rumors abound on the web that the next Dodge Durango may wear the Magnum name that once graced the wagon version of the Dodge Charger/Chrysler 300, however, following the launch of an official teaser site, we can now confirm that the new vehicle will come onto the market at the end of the year as the 2011 Dodge Durango.
Appearing on the teaser site are several revealing shots of the new Durango, which together with a previously leaked shot, confirm a huge change from the current model, which looks a bit bloated and Ram-like. The new model is decidedly tighter, with sculpted curves and a front end that's vaguely Charger or Challenger-esque
Its running gear will most likely be shared with the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. This means power is expected to come from a similar set of engines, including the company's 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine with an expected rating of 290 horsepower, and a 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 rated around 350 horsepower. An SRT8 version is possible, with the rumor mill suggesting a new 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 for this high-performance model.
We'll find out all the details closer to its unveiling at the end of the year. In the meantime, you can check out the teaser site by following the jump below.
