College Cars And Nicknames

Chances are, the car you drive while you're a student is a bit of a beater. The funny thing about beaters is they tend to earn much more creative nicknames than a new car.

Take that purple voyager in the picture above, for example. In my high school days I got to roll around in one of these before it broke down by literally vomiting out part of its differential. It earned the title "Angstwagon" because of my constant anger at my unluckiness with women.

Sometimes the nickname can come from the license plate. I had a friend who drove a car whose numbers began with "DFW." He used those letters to name it "Dewey the Flying Wonder." My old Geo's tags began with "ADD." That pretty much explains everything.

Or, take High Gear Media's Community Manager Eric Berlin's college car, for example. He used to drive an Aires station wagon, which earned the nickname "honey wagon," because the honeys would never look twice.
So I would like to call out to you, our readers. What were some of the all-time great nicknames of cars you had, or a friend had? Why did they earn this name? Don't hesitate to share!
