Video: New Top Gear USA Is Finally Happening!

If you are in college and are a car fan, you have probably watched clips from BBC's Top Gear a few times. When it comes to automotive entertainment, they are king. For a number of years there has been word of an American version being made.

Will they? Won't they?

Finally, an answer has come out of the fog. Top Gear USA is actually happening. Tanner Foust, Adam Ferrara and Rutledge Wood will be hosting our own attempt at BBC's titan of a television show. Foust has made his name in the sideways world of drifting, Ferrara in the world of comedy and Wood as a NASCAR reporter.

Check out the brand new trailer for the series and see what you think:

For those that have been whining and moaning about the UK Top Gear being too scripted, overblown and ridiculous, this new American version might be some sort of relief. The first season will most definitely have teething problems as the hosts get used to each other and polish up their television skills, but it seems like this will be a far cry from the almost unbearable Australian Top Gear. Well, we can at least hope. At least seeing the SRT-10, an old Thunderbird Turbo Coupe and a big old Caddy are signs that we will get to see American metal get pushed to the limit, which is one thing that the UK Top Gear has always left to be desired. Finally the anti-American bias will be lifted a little bit, but all the entertainment will hopefully remain.
