In true Jaguar style the XK takes on all the major competitors and proves to have many advantages over the competition. Although some offer more of a sporty package, this vehicle has a much smoother ride than most sports cars of its type.
The 5.0-liter V-8 engine in base trim produces 385 horsepower has 380 pound-feet of torque. According to Jaguar the car reaches a top speed of 155 mph and gets 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds. There is a standard ZF electronic six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. It comes in a convertible and coupe style; the coupe gets 16 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway, while the convertible gets 16 mpg city and 22 mpg on the highway. For this latest model the driver is offered three different modes that improve throttle response, shift speed and suspension settings. These features add to the almost perfect handling of the 2010 Jaguar XK. Eighteen inch wheels are standard, but you can also choose nineteen or twenty inch wheels too. The larger wheels fitted with Dunlop tires don't seem to affect the greatness of the handling at all.
As typical for a Jaguar, the XK has many luxurious interior features. The driver's bucket seat is comfortable, but like most sports cars of this type, the back seats are rather cramped. There is a multi-function touch screen to control audio, climate, navigation, and other features. Most reviewers report that the screen is easy to use, but others say that it is complicated and takes too much time to access all the menus.
If you are prone to putting your foot on the accelerator and forgetting about the speed limit the XK offers the perfect solution. You can set a speed using the cruise control and the car will not exceed the speed limit. Another safey feature is the rear parking meter that shows the driver a visual picture of obstacles in the rear while reversing. The front bumper sensing system alerts drivers to front collissions, specifically designed for less pedestrian accidents. The 2010 Jaguar XK has an enormous amount of features, as you would expect from a quality sports car. At a price of $82,150 it is still in the respectable range when compared to other vehicles of its type. It looks fantastic, it handles great, and it has all the interior features you need, what more can you ask for in a luxury sports car?
