Nissan’s GT-R is a world-class supercar for sure. Not only will it match or beat a Porsche 911 Turbo when comparing performance, but it will cost a great deal less as well. Nissan is going to prove itself even more now that it’s going to release the Nissan GT-R Club Track Edition.
The car is unlike the hot version of the GT-R, the Spec-V, which is made more for the street. The Club Track Edition was developed by Nissan and NISMO along with two Japanese tuning companies Nova Engineering and Nordring to be used¬ a small grassroots racing-league. The interior has been stripped out to the metal. A roll cage is installed, 4-point is standard and 6-point is an extra cost option, along with a single Recaro racing seat for the driver is installed. Other racing touches include tow-hooks, pinned down hoods and trunk, and a fire suppression system.
Don’t thing that the car is just a standard factory GT-R for racing, performance upgrades done include air guides for the brakes, adjustable Bilstein dampers, and upgraded front suspension. The car gets custom tuning for the Traction control, stability control, ABS, and engine management computer. Wheels are similar wheels found on the Spec-V—Rays Engineering Forge Aluminum wheels, 20x9.5 inches front and 20x10.5 inches rear, equipped with Dunlop long-lasting slicks. Hard racing durability has also with front and rear differential coolers.
The GT-R Club Track Edition will be available in a variety of paint colors including Brilliant White, Black Pearl, Vibrant Red, Dark Metal Grey and Blue Pearl (unfortunately, no Midnight Purple.)
The cost for the car, converted into dollars, is $121,130, but also requires a $20,000 membership into the Prestige Club of GT-R and an $11,000 annual due. Owners will get assigned a number and will be invited to two racing events a year.
