There is a significant difference to the front end of this latest Acura RDX compared to previous models. It comes in the form of the huge grille--most reviewers dislike this new and somewhat unwanted feature. Acura have been criticized in regards to past models for their simple and boring exterior design. It looks like they have went over the top to try and correct the exterior issues and ended up with a look that is now too overpowering.
However, the looks of this luxury compact SUV may not matter to potential buyers when they hear the price tag starts at a very reasonable $32,520. The 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine makes 240 horsepower seems to have enough power for the average driver. The AWD models get 17 mpg in the city and 22 mpg while on the highway, and the FWD does 19 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. Test drives prove the Acura RDX gets from 0-60 mph in 6.8 seconds, although the response from the throttle does suffer some turbo lag.
Another highlight of the RDX is the great handling qualities, it has been compared to that of a sedan. This SUV has very responsive steering and little body roll, which is a plus for any vehicle of this type. The interior has adequate room and is very comfortable. When it comes to some of the key interior features, they look cheap for a car of this type. On the other hand, the abundance of leather, matte silver trim on the wheel, door handles, dash and center stack's edges may be a little too much for some drivers.
Along with the leather seats, there are several other features that come as standard with the Acura RDX. These include automatic climate control, a power moonroof, a USB interface with iPod integration, Bluetooth capability, and a rearview camera. It is quite the package, one you wouldn't expect from an SUV with such a low price tag. It would be a tough job finding any SUV as affordable or fuel efficient as the 2010 Acura RDX.

This as well as the MDX prove that the power plenum is not that hated.
There is a major typo in the article ( I will give the writer benefit of the doubt.) Acura may have 'gone over the top,' not 'may have went over the top.' I hope this was an oversight and not a reflection on editorial standards.
