This past Saturday during an event at the University of Texas at Arlington called the Texas Autocross Weekend one attendee in a polished aluminum Cobra decided to take relief from the hot Texas sun in an adjacent creek. A 57-year-old man was driving by the event in his mirror like finish aluminum Cobra when the throttle stuck wide open and the vehicle spun with the driver losing control . From there witnesses say the Cobra's engine could be heard running full out as it hit the curb and flipped upside down landing in a muddy creek across the street from the event. The engine eventually came to a stop as it seized up from the water intake but I am happy to report the driver walked away with no injuries. The polished aluminum Cobra was valued at $300K by the owner who is also working on a copper finished Cobra.
Check out all the recovery photos below and give thanks to Matt over at Jalopnik for bringing this to our attention.
