Hyundai seems to be on a roll: The Genesis Coupe and Sedan offer great competition for their classes, and the new Sonata 2.0T looks great and will have some Toyota Camry and Accord shoppers buying Korean instead. The new Hyundai Veloster started out as a concept at the 2007 Seoul Motor Show, and has been seen testing with camouflage in the past recent months. Most speculation points to the square-shouldered hatchback to be a replacement for the aging Tiburon, as the Genesis Coupe has taken the role as the company’s sports car.
Automotor Und Sport caught the hatchback driving around during brake testing with what looks to be its European rival: The Volkswagen Scirocco which is only seen in the first few seconds. The video is quite boring, however, as most of the shots of the car are at extremely low speed. The only time the car shows off its performance is when entering traffic.
While we may not get the attractive Volkswagen Scirocco, it is almost guaranteed that the Veloster will come to our shores.
