Holy #%@!: The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

Even the absolute best will sometimes outdo themselves.

On Saturday, June 4th, in Wolfsburg, Germany the Bugatti team sent out their latest creation, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, for a top speed run. The original Veyron shocked us all with its top speed of 253 mph.

This new one even surprised its own engineers when it averaged a top speed of 268 mph.

That is an amazing 393 feet every second.

How on earth did the engineers achieve something like this?

First, all four turbochargers and intercoolers are now bigger. Overall power output is increased from an already massive 1,001 horsepower to a inconceivable 1,200 horsepower and 1,106 pound-feet of torque. The entire body was tweaked and refined for pure aerodynamic stability. And finally, the suspension was reworked and stiffened.

All of that really doesn't matter. What really matters is that number: 268 mph.

Bugatti is back on top.
