American Racing Headers makes some of the finest exhaust systems on the planet and it should come as no surprise they were able to extract an additional 32 rear-wheel horsepower out of the all-new 5.0-liter V-8 by adding their direct fit header system.  Its true, according to ARH who has the dyno numbers to prove it--they are claiming with the addition of just a header system with stock mufflers and mid pipes along with no tune a 32 rear-wheel horsepower gain is achievable.

The 2011 Mustang GT header system from ARH is proudly made in the U.S. from the best 304 Stainless Steel with 3/8" thick flanges with hand ported inlets, choice of 1-3/4" or 1-7/8" primaries,  merge collectors with scavenger spikes, high flow metallic cats, a direct fit X or H pipe and Grade 8 hardware for a hassle free installation.

The ARH direct fit header system is not cheap at around $1,500 but paying $46 per horsepower seems reasonable.

    Bad stuff?

  2. The 5.0 is definitely hiding some horsepower. I would not be surprised after a tune, new exhaust, intake, and throttle body, one see 500 horses coming out of there.

  3. The car is brand new and cost what 25.000.00 and the exhaust is extra 1,500.00 and you pick up 32 hp bull sh_t from pipes. The car probably does run fine but if you want performance put the right gearing in it end of story. The sound is what it is but performance is getting from a to b. And at a glance why is the o2 sensors so far down stream from the headers to cut down on heat for lower emission's.
Those should put the shelf and left there.
