The collaboration between an oil company like Pennzoil and Richard Childress Racing (RCR), a NASCAR team, to create a tuned 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS may seem odd. However, when you understand that Pennzoil wants a special car for a contest, and RCR wants to promote their latest venture into street car tuning, the idea becomes clearer.

The biggest tuning piece on the car is a Magnusson supercharger huffing into the V-8. The other engine modifications include a new custom-ground camshaft, valve-train components and a set of headers. The transmission gets an upgraded clutch and a billet steel flywheel. The engine also gets dressed up with a new set of millet aluminum valve covers.
The suspension has the standard springs and shocks replaced with “performance-based” coil over units. The brakes are replaced with Wilwood six-piston caliper units to stop those 22 inch custom wheels.

Styling both inside and out have gotten upgrades. The body kit consists of carbon fiber pieces for the front splitter, rear diffuser, side skirts, rear spoiler and hood scoop. Other modifications on the outside include a new “Old School Grille,” blacked out rear lights and surrounding area, and a Pennzoil/RCR themed paint job. The inside gets custom yellow trim pieces, floor mats, and an interior that uses Yellow and Black hounds tooth fabric.

Only three of these cars will be built, but Pennzoil’s "Get Your Key to Clean" promotion will give away five chances for contest winners to snag one of these at the Bank of America 500 NASCAR event. Details can be found at Pennzoil’s website.
