Automotive Lifestyle: Coffee And Cars

Saturday mornings used to be exciting. As soon as light would enter my eyelids I would spring up out of bed to turn on cartoons. Nowadays, not only do you have to have premium cable channels to catch an episode or two of Looney Tunes, but you can also do it any old day of the week. Where is the fun in that?

Fortunately, I might have found a solution. Automotive enthusiasts across the country have started gathering at coffee shops on Saturday mornings to show off and socialize. They call it Cars and Coffee.

You might be thinking: "Why would I want to wake up in the morning to go see a couple fat guys in Chevelles?"

Would words like M5, 356 or Cayman S change your mind?

All of those names mentioned made an appearance at the Cincinnati meet I attended last Saturday. There were many more, but I won't mention them or I might ruin a couple future entries I gathered material for while I was there.

It wasn't just car guys that made it out. There was also a choice selection of motorcycles that came to show off. No, there weren't any annoying people on straight-piped Harley-Davidsons. It was a more mature selection including a Honda CBX (a motorcycle with a freakin' STRAIGHT-SIX engine), a Triumph Bonneville and a few others.  The best thing about it all is that you can be sure that everyone there is a car person, and a real car person at that. You aren't going to find someone who watched the Fast and the Furious and found a ton of "bling" to throw on their Nissan Stanza at one of these meets. You will only find people who love driving, and who are willing to show off what they have.

For more information on Cars and Coffee, head to the official website. There are people who hold similar events that aren't associated with Cars and Coffee, so check elsewhere on the Internet to see if there are people in your city getting up early on Saturday to have some fun.
