A few years ago Volkner Mobil, a German RV manufacturer, wowed us with their luxury motorhome with its built in garage. Their most famous design included a motorized stowage area that was designed to store low-slung cars (like the BMW Z4 and the Mercedes-Benz SLK) in between the RV’s front and rear axles. Since then, Volkner has developed a couple other luxury mobile homes with garages that can transport your Mini Cooper, Smart car, or even your racecar - all of which make perfect sense to me.
However, Strand Craft feels that taking your sports car along for your weekend getaway shouldn’t be limited to your cross-country road-trips. No, Strand Craft wants you to be able to take your vehicle of choice with you even when visiting distant ports. To that end, the luxury yacht builder is currently developing the 122 Open. The 38-meter luxury yacht houses four large double staterooms complete with their own bathrooms, as well as a reception area, multiple salon areas, crew quarters, and a garage. That’s right, a garage. But Strand Craft isn’t satisfied with just providing a space for your vehicle: The 122 comes equipped with a “Tender” (code for “special handcrafted supercar), powered by a twin-turbo V-12 good for 880 horsepower, which enables the vehicle to reach a top speed of 233 miles per hour. The Tender’s design is meant to complement that of its mothership and to provide its owner with the freedom of mobility wherever the yacht should make port. Just remember not to do burnouts getting off the ship or you might permanently mar your yacht.

Powering the sleek looking 120-ton yacht are two MTU series 4000 diesel engines producing 9,220 horsepower driven by two Rolls-Royce jet drives. And if you want some extra power on tap, you can add the optional “booster” engine, which delivers another 5,100 horsepower. These bad boys will let you rip across the water at a blazing 55 knots, or 63 miles per hour (43 knots, or 49 mph, without the Booster). Just be careful not to turn too suddenly at those speeds or you might damage your Tender. No word on timing or pricing, though if you have to ask about the latter, you probably can’t afford it. On the other hand, if you can afford it, you can probably “facilitate” the timetable as well.
