Colin Chapman is the most associated name to Lotus and is one of the sports car legends. Roger Becker was one person at Lotus that barely anybody has heard of. He has given 44 years of work, some as director of vehicle engineering, and helped release some of the company’s best cars like the Elise, Exige and Evora. Lotus wants to give Becker, who retired in January, proper recognition by creating a special edition in his name called the RGB.

The RGB edition cars will also designate the end of the Elise SC and the Exige S in the European market; the supercharged engines will no longer meet Euro 5 regulations. The Elise SC uses the Toyota based 2ZZGE engine, but supercharged to create 217 horsepower, while the Exige S gets an intercooler to make 257 horsepower.

The cars will be available in four colors: white, yellow, black and grey. Rounding off the special appearance are black forged alloy wheels and a Roger Becker signature plaque featuring the number designation on the B-pillar.

There is no word that this car will be available in North America, as the Supercharged engines in the Elise and Exige will still be available after sales are halted in Europe.
