ATI Performance Products sent us over a few photos of their DragPak Dodge Challenger in action this past weekend at Maple Grove Raceway in Mohnton, Pennsylvania for the Hemi Shootout in conjuction with its Muscle Car Series.  Piloting the DragPak Challenger was ATI's Chief of Operations, JC Beattie Jr who was competing in his first ever drag racing competition.  JC is no stranger to the racing world as he drove ASA stock cars in his earlier years but has decided to get behind the wheel of a drag car since his job at ATI is to make cars faster and break less just so long as they make the winners circle.

All weekend the DragPak Challenger was running 10.60's on the Mopar Performance prepped engine.

Press Release:

ATI Drag Pak Challenger puts on a show at the NMCA Hemi Shootout!

ATI's Chief of Operations, JC Beattie Jr, had a great weekend behind the wheel of his Drag Pak Challenger. The NMCA organization put on a special event named the Hemi Shootout in conjunction with its Muscle Car Series at Maple Grove Raceway this past weekend. With dial index's raging from 10 to 15 seconds, there was a spot for everyone.  The field was comprised of fully built drag cars like JC's to mom's stock grocery getting Dodge Magnum.

This was not just JC's first competition in his Drag Pak Challenger; it was his first drag racing competition ever! JC had been piloting ASA stock cars in his earlier years, but recently decided to jump behind the wheel of a drag car since his role at ATI is to help make race cars break less, go faster, and continue to sit in the winner's circle.

The ATI Drag Pak Challenger, which normally runs a Gary Stanton built 370ci Hemi motor, was running with its Mopar Performance prepped motor while final tuning was being completed on the Stanton motor. This meant JC could not run the car to its full potential. JC's Challenger is equipped with an ATI 8" Treemaster MRT and ATI built Chrysler 904 Transmission.  JC says the car was setup so well, he ran consistent 10.60's all weekend long and made it to his first final round.  Unfortunately the Hemi Shootout final round was canceled due to rain, so JC split the win with fellow Mopar enthusiast Wendy Robertson.

JC and the ATI crew will be in Englishtown, NJ this weekend for the NHRA Super Nationals.
