Aston Martin Carbon Black Edition V12 Vantage and DBS

One of the fastest cars in Aston Martin’s near-century of history is headed to the U.S. later this year but it will come at a price, a very, very steep price. The car is the new Aston Martin V12 Vantage and it’s set to stun the luxury world not only in performance but also because of its $179,995 starting price.

For that money you only get the “base” model but you still get a brawny 6.0-liter V-12 engine with more than 510 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque in a car that’s about the same size as a Chevy Aveo. Those kinds of numbers enable the car to cover the 0-62 mph sprint in just 4.2 seconds and see it reach a top speed in excess of 185 mph.

If money is no object you can opt for the more exclusive Carbon Black Edition--an exclusive trim for the U.S. market that includes metallic paint, carbon-fiber accents, a custom grille and 10-spoke alloy wheels. This special edition will set you back $194,995.

Both prices include a $3,000 gas guzzler tax and $1,350 destination charge. Importantly, the new V12 Vantage is not only cheaper than Aston Martin’s flagship DBS but it’s quicker too.
